Seeds Tier List

Every tile in Farm an Island should pay you at the Bank. Seeds look similar in the Shop, but growth timers, sell values, and unlock requirements differ enough that random planting leaves you broke while friends buy land. This page ranks crops S through F for early, mid, and late game using Bank cash per minute — not rarity color or model size alone.

Pair these picks with Make Money Fast session habits and free seed packs from Farm an Island Codes (THANKYOU). Full stat tables and sources sit on Crops & Seeds Encyclopedia. Gear speed boosts are on Gears Tier List.

Ranking method

We score each seed on:

  • Bank payout after one harvest (or full multi-harvest cycle where applicable)
  • Time to ready including replant if single-harvest
  • Affordability at the phase when you first unlock it
  • Roll rarity for gacha seeds — expected value matters, not one lucky pull

Tier letters describe phase strength. A seed can be A tier mid game but C tier late game once rolled epics unlock.

Early game seed tiers (first expansions)

You start with starter packs and cheap Shop stock. Goal: fill every tile with the best ROI you can afford today.

S tier — early

  • Best affordable Shop tier-2 seeds — highest Bank return among seeds you can buy after the first one or two harvest cycles
  • Code pack premium pulls — anything above starter tier from THANKYOU; plant before rebuying commons

A tier — early

  • Reliable fast growers — slightly lower Bank payout but short timers keep cash flowing between land saves
  • Starter pack filler — acceptable only until Shop tier-2 is affordable; replace same session when possible

B tier — early

  • Slow high-payout shop seeds you cannot afford to fill the whole field — buy one or two while saving, not full fields
  • Cosmetic or event seeds with average Bank values

C tier — early

  • Pure starter commons once tier-2 unlocks — only plant if inventory is stuck and you refuse to idle tiles

D–F tier — early

  • Seeds requiring late unlocks bought early “for later” — dead capital while tiles sit empty elsewhere
  • Single-harvest crops with worse ROI than multi-harvest alternatives at the same price point

Early rule: full B-tier field beats half an S-tier field. Check How to Play for Bank-before-replant discipline.

Mid game seed tiers (full fields, first gears)

Land count rises, ILOVEGEARS tools speed harvests, and chickens may support the loop per Chickens. Shift from “fastest cash” to “best cash per cycle.”

S tier — mid

  • Top Shop tier seeds you can seed 100% of tiles after each Bank trip
  • Strong rolled rares from the seed draw machine — epics with Bank payout above your best shop line

A tier — mid

  • Previous early S-tier seeds — still fine if rolled upgrades are unaffordable; replace when cash buffer allows
  • Multi-harvest shop lines that beat single-harvest premium on total cycle ROI

B tier — mid

  • Rolled uncommons used as bridge stock until epic pity or cash stabilizes
  • Event seeds after events end if Bank price drops below current shop meta

C tier — mid

  • Early fast growers kept for nostalgia while S-tier mid seeds sit in inventory unplanted

D–F tier — mid

  • Starter seeds on expanded islands — never rebuy unless filling a one-tile gap before logout
  • Rolled trash tiers kept “just in case” — sell cycle time is worth more than hoarding

Start experimenting with XL Plant Trick when mid-tier seeds feel crowded on dense layouts.

Late game seed tiers (rebirth, rolls, XL farms)

Rebirth resets parts of progression but rewards multipliers. Seed rolls and oversized crops dominate. See Auto Farm Features only if you accept script risks — legit players still win with tier discipline.

S tier — late

  • Top rolled legendaries / mythics with best verified Bank per minute on full rebirth buffs
  • XL-compatible premium seeds that benefit from XL Plant Trick density

A tier — late

  • Strong epics one tier below mythic — use while rolling for upgrades
  • Rebirth-boosted shop exclusives when roll currency is dry

B tier — late

  • Mid game S-tier holdovers — sell or compost mentally; they block rebirth efficiency

C–F tier — late

  • All starter and early shop lines
  • Unrolled bulk commons bought for roll fodder only — not for planting on main fields

Seed roll vs Shop: where tiers come from

The seed draw machine adds gacha layers. Shop tiers are predictable; rolls spike variance. Tier list assumes average players roll occasionally — not infinite Robux.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Farm an Island players.

What is the best seed in Farm an Island early game?

The best early seed is the highest Bank-value crop you can afford to plant on every tile after your first Bank trip — usually top affordable Shop tier-2, plus anything strong from THANKYOU code packs.

Are rolled seeds better than Shop seeds?

Late game yes — top rolled rares beat shop lines. Early and mid game, reliable shop seeds often win because you need full fields, not one lucky epic on half your plots.

Should I use free code seeds on every tile?

Plant code pack seeds on as many tiles as possible before buying lower-tier filler. Check this tier list for which pack pulls outrank your current shop stock.

Do multi-harvest crops rank higher?

Often yes when total cycle Bank ROI beats single-harvest premium at the same land phase. Compare full grow-harvest-reharvest loops, not one pickup.

How often does the seed tier list change?

After patches adjusting Bank prices, roll pools, or rebirth rewards. Recheck following Discord update posts from Boiler Games.

Where do I compare seed stats in detail?
